WOMEN'S SOCCER Not only are the Badgers 2-0-0 to begin the season for the first time since 2005, but UW also posted shutouts in both wins. The last time the Badgers post- ed consecutive shutouts to open the season was 19 years ago, when they defeated UW-Milwaukee, 5-0, before knocking off Michigan State, 2-0, to kick off the 1993 season.
VOLLEYBALL
For the 12th straight year, Wisconsin volley- ball ranked in the top four for national atten- dance last year. Along with averaging 3,791 fans per match, the Badgers also beat four ranked teams in 2011, the most for the pro- gram since beating four back in 2006.

UW is looking to improve on a 2011 season in which it won at least 10 games for the first time since 2003. The Badgers return 18 players from last season, including 10 starters from a team that went 10-8-2 and finished third in the final 2011 Big Ten standings.
Head coach Bret Bielema released his preseason depth chart Monday, a list that included all nine of the Badgers' seniors on either of- fense or defense. That class makes up just 17.3 percent of the 52 play- ers listed in starting or backup roles for the team's Sept. 1 season-opener vs. Northern Iowa.
