3 Energy Eciency Downtown Grand Junction The future looks bright for the Alpine Bank office tower in downtown Grand Junction, where energy-efficient upgrades continue. In addition to various water- and natural gas-saving projects in 2015 and 2016, the bank's main cooling tower received a high-efficiency motor and a variable frequency drive (VFD) upgrade, creating more energy-saving potential and improving the overall reliability of the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system. Recent steps toward reducing electricity consumption have been primarily in the form of lighting upgrades. Several automatic timers and photocells were added and aging controls replaced. Halogen emergency exit signs will soon be replaced with light-emitting diode (LED) fixtures. The bank's current focus is to convert obsolete lighting to LEDs, so various retrofits have taken place on the property. In the main lobby, numerous T8 and T5 fluorescent light fixtures were replaced with LEDs. Other Alpine Bank department remodels have included similar energy-efficient upgrades. All lower-level exterior and parking lot lights have been retrofitted with LED lamps and/or fixtures as applicable. Three large parking lot monument signs have been replaced with new signs featuring LED illumination. A complete LED retrofit for the entire main lobby, including converting 62 outdated 250-watt fixtures to 60-watt LEDs, is in process. This labor-intensive project will increase reliability, reduce maintenance costs and is projected to reduce energy consumption by 39,000 kilowatt hours (kWh) annually. focus LEDs The bank's current is to convert obsolete lighting to " "
