We are quite proud of our Alpine Bank Green Team, which was formalized in 2005, for its positive accomplishments on environmental issues during the past 11 years. This year, our endeavors were recognized with a handful of awards, including induction into the International Green Industry Hall of Fame, as well as several local awards achieved in Summit County and Snowmass Village. The Independent Community Bankers of America awarded the Grand National Award for Service Programs to Alpine Bank for our community solar garden program and our commitment to provide environmentally sustainable energy for low-income families through our partnership with the Family Intercultural Resource Center (FIRC), a nonprofit in Summit County. A real highlight arrived in October, when Governor Hickenlooper awarded Alpine Bank the 24-Karat Gold Award on behalf of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment's Environmental Leadership Program. Again, it was the community solar garden program, a "first of its kind" clean energy partnership between a for-profit business and a nonprofit, that attracted attention. With each passing year, it is apparent that our employees' active participation not only grows, but also becomes more meaningful. We believe this is the result of our associates' dedication to the Colorado environment and unwavering commitment to the bank's initiative to create measurable and meaningful improvements in every facet of our daily lives. We are acutely aware that our success is really a reflection of the communities we serve. Your feedback on how we can work together to further green our business and community going forward is greatly appreciated. We live in a beautiful environment that demands our stewardship at the highest level. Thank you for your interest and ongoing support of Alpine Bank. Sincerely, J. Robert Young, Chairman Chairman's Message 1
