UA has finished in the bottom three in the Pac-12 the last four seasons. One of the best players in the program's history, Barnes look to turn things around in Tucson, where the Wildcats have had just two winning seasons since 2005. • Barnes has a veteran team to work with as 12 letterwinners return from last season's squad, including four starters. While the team will be adjusting to the new coaching staff, Barnes will have several leadership op- tions as half the team are seniors, with another two juniors on the squad. • Arizona has its top-two scorer's back this season in seniors LaBrittney Jones and Malena Washington. Jones missed part of the season with a foot injury but after returning, she lead the team in scoring, shooting percentage, steals and blocks. • Washington was the team's second-leading scorer last year and stepped in to take over the ball-handling duties for the second half of the season with her minutes also increasing during the final two months of the campaign. • Redshirt sophomore Taryn Griffey was one of the most highly-touted prep stars prior to joining the Wildcats two years ago, but has been marred by injuries. She appears to be on the mend, but if she will be at 100 percent by the start of the season is still unknown. • The Wildcats were near the bottom in rebounding margin and rebounding offense last year. Arizona will have to find a way to take utilize the hieghts of of 6-8 sophomore Eugenie Simonet-Keller and 6-3 Destiny Graham in order to stay competitive on the boards.
