The 12th-ranked Badgers are making their ninth trip to the NCAA championships since its inception in 1997. Wisconsin's five straight championship appearances is the second-longest active streak in the Big Ten behind Ohio State's 13-year run. The Badgers finished ninth at the 2011 championships, second-best among Big Ten women's lightweights recaptured their Eastern Sprints title and kept hold of the team trophy with a dominant performance at the EAWRC conference championships. With wins in the varsity and novice eights and a second-place finish in the second varsity eight, the Badgers were crowned team champions, winning their sixth- straight Konrad Ulbrich Trophy. Thanks to a win over Bucknell, the Badgers claimed their seventh varsity eight title in eight years.
