'' BADGERS Ask The 20 » VARSITY APRIL 12, 2012 What one sporting event do you wish you could attend? Question of the Week: JARED BERGGREN • JUNIOR • MEN'S BASKETBALL "I would have liked to have attended game six of the 2008 NBA Finals when the Celtics beat the Lakers to clinch the title. That was when Kevin Garnett won his first and, to this point, only NBA championship. KG has always been my favorite player from his time playing in Minnesota, and even after he went to the Celtics, I still cheered for him. To see him finally win a championship and go nuts in his celebration was very memorable for me." ANNEMARIE HICKEY • SOPHOMORE • VOLLEYBALL "I think I would go to the X Games. I like to snowboard and watching them, es- pecially Shaun White, do halfpipes and doing races is really cool. It's something I wish I had the ability to do and not be scared to do. I think those people are really talented so that's where I would want to go." BEAU ALLEN • JUNIOR • FOOTBALL "I would want to go to the 'Miracle on Ice.' I grew up a hockey player in Minnesota and a lot of guys from the Minnesota hockey team were on that (U.S.) team, so it was a big thing for me. I love the move Miracle, with Herb Brooks and Mark John- son and all those connections. It would be great to see it in person." KELSEY HORTON • JUNIOR • SOFTBALL "I would attend an All-American Girls Professional Baseball League game. They played during World War II, and they were the first women to ever play profes- sional baseball. It was a cool period in time. Women got the chance to get out and play a game that had only been open to men." MIKE BRUESEWITZ • JUNIOR • MEN'S BASKETBALL "I really would have liked to see the Thrilla in Manila fight between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier. There had been so much drama and hatred from both men from the previous two fights. Although everyone said Frazier was washed up, they still had one of the greatest bouts ever and it was named the fight of the century by many. I would have really liked to see and hear the press conferences and weigh- ins of this fight as well because Ali could talk trash with the best of them."
