BY THE NUMBERS Ben Jordan continued a family tradition with an All-America performance at the NCAA championships. 1-2-3 0.54 WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY Freshman Gabrielle Anzalone helped lead the United States to a 1-2-3 finish at the North American, Central American and Ca- ribbean Cross Country Championships on Saturday in Trinidad. Anzalone claimed the silver medal in the 4-kilometer junior race in 13:47.50, just seven seconds behind her USA teammate and winner Shannon Osika. SOFTBALL Sophomore pitcher Cassandra Darrah allowed just one run in 13 innings last weekend at the Gaucho Classic. Darrah pitched two complete games, striking out 10 batters and record- ing a 0.54 ERA. 2 7 16 ยป VARSITY MARCH 22, 2012 BASKETBALL / FOOTBALL With NCAA Sweet 16 and Rose Bowl appearances in back-to-back years, Wisconsin became just the second school ever to send its football program to a BCS bowl and its men's bas- ketball team to the Sweet 16 in consecutive seasons. Ohio State also accomplished the feat in 2010 and 2011. WRESTLING Senior Ben Jordan finished his col- legiate career with an impressive showing at the NCAA champion- ships, earning All-America honors with a seventh-place finish at 165 lbs. Jordan was 5-2 at the championships, and became the eight Badger to be named an All-American at 165 lbs. Jordan also joined his father, Jim, and uncle, Jeff, as All-Americans at UW.
