Discovery Opens Path
to New Questions
it's a discovery that one neuroscientist
says will require textbooks to be
rewritten. Researchers at the UVa school
of Medicine have revealed that there is a
functioning immune system connection
in the mammalian brain, and their work
could have significant impact on many

Phronesis Project Brings Practical
Wisdom to Medical Education
an innovative new program at the UVa
school of Medicine is helping students like
Walker Redd understand and take on their
role as physicians. Called the Phronesis
Project, the program strives to inspire
wisdom and empathy in student physicians
through early and long-term relationships
with patients and it's already having an
impact.
