Named America East Coach of the Year in 2011 for the second straight season and third time overall (2007, 2010, 2011) Owns a 230-143-1 overall record at BU (.616 winning percentage) and 99-37 record in the America East (.728). Led Terriers to back-to-back league championships in 2009 and 2010 and two subsequent NCAA appearances, coming away with three wins in the NCAA regionals Was an assistant coach on BU's 2003 NCAA Tournament team Named to the Women's National Team coaching pool through 2012 Played fastpitch softball for 23 years, reaching the top of the sport in 1994 by earning a spot on the U.S. Men's National Softball team, where he won one gold medal, three silver medals and a bronze medal over an eight-year span with the team Named the United States Olympic Committee's Athlete of the Year - one of the highest honors in men's fastpitch softball - in 1999 and again in 2000
Will be inducted into the International Softball Congress (ISC) Hall of Fame in August of 2012
