NICK TOON & RUSSELL WILSON Not only does the UW have an abundance of combine-test- ed draftable players — not the least of which is center Peter Konz, who's projected for the first round — but it may have a few sleepers, too. During the 2011 season, Wilson completed 73 percent of his passes for 3,175 yards and 33 touchdowns; 10 of which were caught by Toon, who finished with a team-high 64 receptions. Coupled with the record-setting scoring ex- ploits of tailback Montee Ball, the Wilson/Toon tag team helped lead the Badgers to the Rose Bowl with a win at the inaugural Big Ten football championship game. The latter was staged in early December at Lu- cas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis; the site of the recent NFL Scouting Combine which showcased eight Badgers, including Wilson and Toon. Both returned to Madison last weekend and will take part in the Badgers' Pro Timing Day next Wednesday at the McClain Facility. The event should draw a large gathering of scouts, personnel directors and coaches. "Pro Day here,'' Toon said, "is another chance to compete — to do your position work and do things athletically around your peers — and an- other opportunity to show the scouts what you can do.'' Wilson is looking forward to throwing to Toon. "I can't wait to see him out there again catch- ing some passes,'' he said. "I'm going to be mak- ing a lot of throws — that's the most important thing and what (NFL) people want to see.''
