As shown, Alpine Bank experienced a slight reduction in total MMBtus during that time (30,816 MMBtus in 2012 vs. 30,596 MMBtus in 2014). One item not specically mentioned in the Merrill Group's reporting is water use. Since 2012, Alpine Bank has exceeded the electricity goal (less electricity use); however, the bank has failed on the water goal (more water use). As displayed in the graph below, using un-normalized data, Alpine Bank's water use gures of 2012 have slipped by 26 percent while increasing cost by about the same rate. In 2013, it was expected that Alpine Bank would have used less energy than it did due to the weather patterns, while in 2014, Alpine Bank used less energy than would have been expected for the corresponding weather patterns. This dierence can be associated with energy-eciency eorts. While the "Green the Banks" goals have been completed, the work is not done; Alpine Bank must have constantly evolving aspirations. The bank continues to measure its progress, assess its impacts, complete location upgrades as needed, and promote employee involvement in an eort to continually improve environmental performance and enhance the quality of life in the communities it serves. 17
