CHAIRMAN'S MESSAGE In 2004, our now-retired Vice Chairman Dave Scruby, at the suggestion of a few employees, began our Green Team initiative that has grown almost exponentially in the ensuing 11 years. From this grassroots eort, our Green Team now encompasses virtually every aspect of our life in the bank, in our community, and in the way that we interact with each other. A few of our accomplishments include our Gold Leader designation with the Colorado Environmental Leadership Program, our ISO 14001 certication for the tenth straight year, and our membership in the Environmental Protection Agency Green Power Leadership Club. Recently, ColoradoBiz magazine named Alpine Banks as the Best Bank in Colorado. This is an award of which we are extremely proud because it is based on the number of votes we received from the readership of a primarily Front Range publication. We believe these readers were inuenced by our energy-eciency initiatives within our banks and our communities, which are virtually unparalleled among Colorado nancial institutions. Please give us feedback on how we can work together to further green our business and community going forward. We live in a beautiful environment that demands our stewardship at the highest level. Thank you for your interest and support of Alpine Bank. Sincerely, J. Robert Young, Chairman 1
