for how we've gone about our business at each spot,'' said Gard, pointing to Ryan's path from Platteville to Milwaukee to Madison. "The one thing I've always tried to do as a re-
cruiter is show up even when there isn't a player at a certain high school, that is, you don't only show up when there is a recruitable player. "A lot of coaches appreciate it when you're not
just there when you want something. Instead, you're reaching out to them, calling them and texting them after big wins or when they make state.''
