129 BOWL HISTORY // 2015 PAC-12 FOOTBALL MEDIA GUIDE PAC-12 CHAMPIONSHIP GAME The winner of each Division will be determined by the record in all games played (both divisional and cross-divisional) within the confer- ence. In the event of a tie, the following procedures will be applied to determine the Pac-12 Championship Game representatives Two-Team Tie. 1. Head-to-head competition between the two tied teams. a. If no game is played between the two tied teams or that game ends in a tie, the following tie-brekaing procedures would be applied: 2. Record in games played within the division 3. Record against the next highest placed team in the division (Based on record in all games played within the conference), proceeding through the division. 4. Record in common conference games. 5. Highest ranking in the College Football Playoff poll entering the last weekend of regular-season games. 6. Total number of wins in a 12-game season. The following con- ditions will apply to the calculation of the total number of wins: a. Only one win against a team from the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision or lower division will be count- ed annually. b. Any games that are exempted from counting against the annual maximum number of football contests per NCAA rules (current Bylaw 17.9.5.2) shall not be included. 7. Coin toss. Multiple-Team Ties. The following procedures will only be used to eliminate all but two teams, at which point the two-team tie-breaking procedure will be applied. 1. Head-to-head (Best record in games among the tied teams). 2. Record in games played within the division. 3. Record against the next highest placed team in the division (based on record in all games played within the conference), proceeding through the division. 4. Record in common conference games. 5. Highest ranking in the College Football Playoff poll entering the last weekend of regular-season games. Determination of Home Team in Pac-12 Championship The home team in the Pac-12 Championship Game will be deter- mined by the record in all games played within the conference. In the event of a tie, the following procedures will be applied to determine the home team. Tie-breaking Procedure. 1. Head-to-head, if applicable. 2. Record against the next highest-placed common opponent in the conference (based on record in all games played within the conference), proceeding through the conference. 3. Record in common conference games. 4. Highest ranking in the College Football Playoff poll following the last weekend of Pac-12 regular-season games. 5. Coin toss. TIE-BREAK PROCEDURES TO DETERMINE DIVISION CHAMPIONS The Pac-12 Football Championship Game will take place Satur- day, December 5 at 4:45 p.m. or 5 p.m. PT and telecast to a na- tional audience on FOX. The Championship game will match the winner of the North Division vs. the winner of the South Division. The game will be played at Levi's® Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. The champion will eye a spot opposite the Big Ten champion in the Rose Bowl Game. If the Pac-12 champion is in the top four of the College Football Playoff poll following the 2015 season it would vacate its spot in the Rose Bowl top participate in CFP semi-!nals in either the Cotton or Orange Bowl. The Rose Bowl would then !ll the vacated spot with another Pac-12 team.
