The two parties signed a new 10-year contract in May 2009 for Nike to continue as the exclusive supplier of athletic footwear, apparel and accessory products. Nike will provide the athletic department with shoes, uniforms, coaching gear, balls and other equipment. Nike also gave the University $2 million for the Chancellor's Academic Enhancement Fund to support faculty. This partnership has ben- efitted all 28 varsity sports and provided millions of dollars for academics and student scholarships at the University. EAST ATLANTIC GYMNASTICS LEAGUE The East Atlantic Gymnastics League became a reality on July 31, 1995, when eight prominent universities banded together to form a consor- tium created solely for the purpose of showcasing women's gymnastics on the East Coast. Represent- ing three conferences and six states, the EAGL is compromised of the University of Maryland, the University of North Carolina and North Carolina State of the Atlantic Coast Conference; the Uni- versity of Pittsburgh, Rutgers University and West Virginia University of the Big East Conference; and the University of New Hampshire and George Washington of the Atlantic 10.
