t h i s i s b u B A S K E T B A L L COACHING EXPERIENCE Boston University welcomes a staff with over 40 years of coaching experience. First-year head coach Joe Jones joined the Terriers after helping Boston College reach the second round of the NIT as associate head coach. He previously spent seven years as the head coach at Columbia. STUDENT-ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT Boston University prides itself in developing well- rounded student-athletes who not only apply themselves in the classroom but also become contributors to the community. This past season, the Terriers were only one of eight teams in the NCAA tournament to have a 100 percent graduation rate for 2010. The team also gives back to the community by promoting reading to children and volunteering at multiple events, including American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. WINNING TRADITION BU has a rich basketball tradition dating back to 1901. The basketball program has featured multiple All-Americans, including 1997 America East Player of the Year Tunji Awojobi (right), and an Elite Eight appearance in the 1959 NCAA tournament led by BU Hall of Famer Jack Leaman (left). By defeating Stony Brook in the America East title game last March, the Terriers claimed their sixth league championship en route to their 13th overall postseason appearance. Since helping form the conference in 1979, BU has posted a .627 winning percentage and 296 wins, over 60 more than the next-closest school. LEAMAN AWOJOBI COACH JONES ON PLAYING STYLE Coach Jones promises an exciting style of play and that the Terriers will play fast, hard and unselfishly.
