Ameche was the Big Ten's rushing leader in 1951 and 1952. November 30, 1954 Heisman hero
Alan Ameche became the first Heisman Trophy winner in Wisconsin history. An All-America fullback in 1953 and 1954 and a three-time (1952-54) All-Big Ten selection, Ameche set the NCAA career rushing mark with 3,345 yards.

December 2, 2009 UP TO THE CHALLENGE: Behind 26 points from Trevon Hughes, Wisconsin knocked off No. 6 Duke, 73-69, to clinch the Big Ten's first overall win in the 11-year history of the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. It was the first of three wins over AP top-10 teams for UW on the season, including victories over No. 4 Purdue and No. 5 Michigan State.
December 4, 1993 ROSE BOWL OR BUST: Wisconsin clinched its first Rose Bowl berth in 31 years with a 41-20 win over Michigan State in Tokyo.
December 2, 1985 BUCKETS: In a non-conference matchup with San Francisco State, UW men's basket- ball senior Rick Olson made 17 field goals in a 90-61 Badgers victory. Olson's 17 field goals topped the previous record of 16 set nearly 27 years earlier by Bob Litzow.
