Her efforts put her name in the Iowa record book, tying Kristi Cardwell and Tyrette Metzendorf for the second- lowest 18-hole score all-time. At the BYU Entrada Classic, Sindlinger carded a three-round 225 (+9), posting 75 during all three rounds to earn another top-20 finish (19th). "It was a great day for Jessie," Menzel said. "She has been working hard during the offseason and I was happy to see it all come together for her. It is fun to get a low round in the record books, and it meant a lot to her to post a good score and help her teammates. I look forward to seeing more under-par rounds." In their last competition, the Hawkeyes claimed sixth place in the field of 15 at the BYU Entrada Classic. One look at the results may not tell the entire story for the Hawkeyes, as they continue to work hard and build team unity as they strive toward bigger goals. "is team has great chemistry; they enjoy being around one another and pushing each other to get a little better each day," Menzel said. "ey work hard, put in extra time, and they are diligent about spending time on fundamentals. e results will come, they just have to keep working and enjoy the journey along the way." H ead coach Megan Menzel and the University of Iowa women's golf team are in the midst of the spring season and on their way toward the Big Ten Championships in Indianapolis from April 24-26. Heading into a demanding stretch, leadership is vital. e Hawkeyes have that in sophomore Jessie Sindlinger. e Charles City, Iowa, native has managed to post consistent numbers, averaging a 77.0 scoring margin per round through the entire year, good for second lowest on the team behind freshman Elisa Suarez. "Every individual on our roster plays an important role and they all do their jobs well," Menzel said. "Jessie is a hard worker. She has a consistently good attitude and is always willing to help her teammates. She is more of a quiet leader, but it is not hard to find her." As a freshman in 2013-14, Sindlinger competed in every tournament for the Hawkeyes, posting a 77.12 stroke average. She recorded two top-20 finishes as well as one top-10 finish. In her sophomore campaign, she has registered two top-20 finishes to date, with time le to post low numbers. "Jessie is a competitor and a great student of the game," Menzel said. "She is always looking for ways to get better, and is willing to put in the work." Sindlinger led by example and showed here potential at the Westbrook Spring Invitational (Feb. 22-23).
