It hosted the 2007 and 2011 America East softball tournament. FACILITY TOUR: SOFTBALL CASE GYMNASIUM Sports: M/W Basketball, Wrestling Opened: 1972 • Seating: 1,800 The women's basketball team earned a WNIT first-round victory in 2009, and the men captured its fifth America East tournament title in 2002 at "The Roof". FACILITY TOUR: MEN'S BASKETBALL FACILITY TOUR: WOMEN'S BASKETBALL FACILITY TOUR: WRESTLING 3 4 U N I V E R S I T Y COMPETITION POOL Sports: M/W Swimming and Diving Opened: 2005 Found within the state-of-the-art Fitness and Recreation Center, the Competition Pool hosted four of the last five America East Swimming and Diving Championships and will host again in 2012. FACILITY TOUR: SWIMMING & DIVING DEWOLFE BOATHOUSE Sports: M/W Crew Opened: 1999 The Boathouse's dock serves as the starting point for the annual Head of the Charles, one of the premiere regattas in North America. FACILITY TOUR: MEN'S CREW FACILITY TOUR: WOMEN'S ROWING W O M E N ' S 5 B A S K E T B A L L NICKERSON FIELD Sports: M/W Soccer, Lacrosse Opened: 1915 (Braves Field); last renovated July 2009 • Seating: 10,412 Nickerson was installed with FIFA- approved FieldTurf in 2008 and has hosted the 2006 NCAA Women's Lacrosse Championships, the MLL's Boston Cannons ('04-'06) and the WUSA's Boston Breakers ('01-'03). Last season, all three BU teams won their respective conference titles on the field. A four-lane track was added in July 2009. FACILITY TOUR: LACROSSE FACILITY TOUR: MEN'S SOCCER FACILITY TOUR: WOMEN'S SOCCER 6 7 AGGANIS ARENA Sports: M/W Hockey, M/W Basketball Opened: 2004 Seating: 6,300 (Hockey), 7,200 (Basketball) Note: Agganis has hosted several major events including the 2009 NCAA Women's Frozen Four and the 2007 America East men's basketball tournament, as well as popular artists such as Carrie Underwood and Bob Dylan. FACILITY TOUR: MEN'S ICE HOCKEY FACILITY TOUR: MEN'S BASKETBALL TRACK AND TENNIS CENTER Sports: M/W Track, M/W Tennis Opened: 2002 Seating: 1,500 fixed seats; 4,800 maximum capacity The Track and Tennis Center serves as annual host to the America East Indoor Track Championships, the New England Championships and the IC4As. FACILITY TOUR: TRACK & FIELD FACILITY TOUR: WOMEN'S TENNIS WALTER BROWN ARENA Sports: W Hockey Opened: 1971, renovated 2010 Seating: 3,806 Served as home of the men's hockey team until Agganis Arena was built and has housed the women's hockey team since its inaugural season in 2005-06.
