Mendoza College of Business Milestones 1997-2011 In June 2011, Carolyn Woo announced that she would be stepping down in December as dean of the Mendoza College to become the CEO of Catholic Relief Services. During her 14-year tenure, the Mendoza College of Business has not only grown, it has been transformed into a top-ranked business school built on an international reputation for academic excellence and values-based leadership. Following is a select list of College and personal achievements occurring during Woo's deanship. '97 Carolyn Y. Woo is named the Martin J. Gillen Dean and Ray and Milann Siegfried Professor for Entrepreneurial Studies '98 The Gigot Center for Entrepreneurial Studies opens The Master of Science in Accountancy program launches its open-enrollment program ND Business magazine publishes first issue '99 The Master of Science in Accountancy program launches specialized program for Ernst & Young employees Doermer Family MBA Career Development Center opens '00 The College is renamed the Mendoza College of Business '01 The Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel is dedicated 4 The redesigned Master of Science in Administration nonprofit degree program is launched '02 Chicago Executive MBA program launches Executive Education introduces Executive Integral Leadership Dean Woo is the first female Chair of the AACSB International, global accreditation body for b-schools '03 Giovanini Commons for Collaborative Learning opens in Mendoza's lower level '04 Dean Woo is appointed to the Catholic Relief Services board—its first cohort of laypeople The graduate nonprofit degree program is renamed the Master of Nonprofit Administration (MNA); non-degree programs are added; the department receives a major gift to launch executive programming Mendoza College begins annual leadership program for senior members of Catholic Charities
