THE BEANPOT RED HOT HOCKEY
The Terriers and Cornell have taken their long-time rivalry to Broadway, as the teams have played to sold-out crowds at Madison Square Garden in 2007 and 2009 for Red Hot Hockey. BU posted a convincing 6-3 win in the first installment before rallying to earn a 3-3 draw in the
rematch. This year, the third Red Hot Hockey event will take place once again on the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend (Nov. 26).
With 29 titles in the Beanpot's 59-year history, the Terriers have long dominated the yearly tournament that features the four Boston schools. Countless former Terriers have reached legendary status thanks to their performances at the Garden on the first two Mondays of February.
FROZEN FENWAY
A chapter of one of the greatest rivalries in college sports took place in Fenway Park on Jan. 8, 2010, when Boston University
skated against Boston College and defeated their archrival, 3-2, in front of the largest crowd to ever watch a college hockey game in the Eastern United States (38,472).
