THE FIRST OF MANY
Kendra Antony scores the first goal in Badger women’s hockey history. Anthony netted UW’s only goal of the game at the 2:25 mark in the first period against Minnesota Duluth. The Badgers opened their inaugural season against the Bulldogs in front of 3,892 fans at the Kohl Center.

Smile for the Camera: The Wisconsin football team plays its first game on live television. UW falls, 14-10, at eighth-ranked Illinois in a game that aired on NBC.
October 7, 1952
Number 1: Wisconsin attained its only Associated Press No. 1 ranking in football after a 20-6 win over Illinois.
October 8, 1993
No Goals: The women’s soccer team shut out Minnesota, 5-0. The 1993 squad recorded 12 shutouts on its way to a 16-4 record and NCAA tournament appearance.
