BY PAUL CAPOBIANCO
@BadgerMHockey

Questions ready to be answered this weekend
With a roster that includes just one senior, five juniors and 20 sophomores and freshmen, there are many questions about the men’s hockey team heading into 2011-12. Who will score goals? Who will play in goal? How will the Badgers finish in the WCHA standings? The time nears when answers will come.

What is known? All-American defenseman Justin Schultz anchors a solid defensive corps and the Badgers boast talent. The speed the talent comes together and adjusts to the college game will go a long way in determining the Badgers’ season success.

Milestone watch
» Can you believe Head Coach Mike Eaves begins his 10th season behind the Badger bench this weekend? Eight more victories will give him 200 career wins as the Badger boss. He’s already third all-time in the UW ranks behind Bob Johnson (367) and Jeff Sauer (489). Eaves is also just Wisconsin’s fourth coach since 1966. Bill Rothwell filled in for Johnson during hte 1976 Olympic year.

Rename it the BHL?
» While the Badgers prepare for their opener, a large contingent of former Badgers ready for their own professional seasons. As of midweek, it appeared 17 Wisconsin alumni would be on NHL opening day rosters. Those 17 include Toronto’s Jake Gardiner and Nashville’s Craig Smith, who played last year at the Kohl Center.
