Carolina Basketball 2011-12 JUSTIN WATTS CAREER Has played in more games than any current Tar Heel • Played at the two-guard in his first two seasons, but played almost exclusively as an under-sized power forward in 2011 • Has started two of his 84 games as a Tar Heel (both in 2009-10) • Is an exceptional offensive rebounder for his size and has earned play- ing time with his leadership and defensive prowess • Has scored 124 points • Scored the final two points for the Tar Heels in the 2009 NCAA title game against Michigan State. JUNIOR SEASON (2010-11) 12 Hit a three from the corner against Miami in the ACC Tourna- ment • Scored his first basket since returning from injury after an of- fensive rebound at home against Duke • Did not play in three games due to a sprained right ankle, an injury he suffered in the latter moments of the first half against Clemson on Jan. 18 • Returned to action on Feb. 6 against Florida State • Carolina's defensive player of the game against Long Beach and Texas • Grabbed six rebounds in 13 minutes against Virginia Tech • Scored in double figures for the second time in his career with a 10-point effort against Rut- gers in Madison Square Garden • Hit a pair of three-pointers (first multi-threes game in his career) and had a spectacular putback slam against Rutgers • Grabbed a career-high seven rebounds against William and Mary • Hit a second- half three-pointer and finished with five points against Texas • Scored a career-high 13 points on 6 of 6 shooting from the floor in the win over Hofstra • That was his first ca- reer double-figure scoring game as a Tar Heel • Turned in a key play in the win over Kentucky – midway through the second half with UNC trailing by four, he grabbed an of- fensive rebound and turned it into a three-point play. SOPHOMORE SEASON (2009-10) Played in 23 games and made starts in two, against Presbyterian and Rutgers • Averaged 1.7 points and had 18 assists • Made his first college start on Dec. 12 against Presbyterian and finished with nine points, four boards, three assists and two steals in a career-high 22 minutes of action • Tied a number of career highs in that game • Con- nected on 4 for 9 from three-point range • Had a career-high four as- sists against Valparaiso • Scored five points in seven minutes against Ohio State in Madison Square Gar- den.
