A CLOSER LOOK AT CAMPUS DINING Several exciting changes have taken place at the North Miami Campus dining facility, The Mix. In addition to a new logo and a special rate for commuter students, The Mix has added new food options which include gluten-free meal choices; Asian-, Latin- and Italian-inspired food stations; and nutritional information on all menu items. After receiving student feedback, The Mix is now open 30 minutes later, closing at 8:30pm seven days per week. Robert Genser from Chartwells oversees dining operations for the campus. "Fresh ingredients, enhanced selection of vegetarian and vegan options, being environmentally responsible when choosing disposable products, and purchasing locally are some of the key elements of our program," says Genser. "Executive Chef Denisse Castillo and I are focused on providing great food, great service and great value for the entire JWU North Miami community." Genser's expansive dining services background has also included stints with Nova Southeastern University, SAGE Dining Services and Sodexo USA. HIRE JWU JOB FAIR The North Miami Campus hosted a Hire JWU Job Fair earlier this fall. More than 60 employers seeking to hire JWU students for part-time, full-time and seasonal employment attended the event, including Marriott Hotels, Lacoste and the Hollywood Police Department. Students had an opportunity to chat one-on-one with recruiters, and some companies offered on-site interviews later that day. "It's hard to find a job in the Miami market. Having recruiters come to campus specifically to recruit JWU students was great," says Frederick Knight '18. After attending the fair, he landed part-time positions at the Gap and Sun Life Stadium.
