ILLINOIS STATE UNIVERSITY STUDENT PROFILE • The fall 2010 enrollment was 20,762 including 18,254 undergraduates and 2,508 graduates. • 11,772 (57 percent) of our students are women, and 8,990 (43 percent) are men. • Of the students admitted for the 2010-2011 academic year, the average ACT score was 24.1. • The incoming minority students accounted for 13.1% of new students. FACULTY, CLASS SIZE • Of the Illinois State's 1,184 faculty members, 69 percent hold the highest degrees in their fields. • Ninety-three percent of undergraduate credit hours are taught by faculty members; the remainder are taught by graduate assistants. • At least 74 percent of all classes have 29 or fewer students; 87 percent have 39 or fewer; and 90 percent have 49 or fewer. • The student-faculty ratio is 19:1. ACADEMIC COLLEGES Its 34 academic departments in six colleges offer 67 undergraduate programs in more than 188 fields of study.
