Talented player who had a solid season as a redshirt freshman in 2010 • However, he was unable to participate in spring practice after being diag- nosed with ANCA Vasculitis, an auto-immune disorder that affects his kidneys, in January, 2011 • He is currently being treated by UNC Hospitals’ Chief of Nephrology Dr. Ronald Falk, and UNC Director of Sports Medicine Dr. Mario Ciocca. 2010 – Redshirt Freshman Season Strong, fast receiver who recovered from a season-ending shoulder injury in 2009 to become a consistent threat in the passing game • Appeared in all 13 games and started four, including the Music City Bowl vs. Tennessee • Finished the season with 19 receptions for 202 yards and two touchdowns • One of eight Tar Heels with 200 or more receiving yards • Had two recep- tions for eight yards vs. Tennessee • Caught three passes for 16 yards and his second touchdown of the season in the win at Duke • Also had his first three carries of the season for 30 yards, including a 15-yarder • Finished with two receptions for nine yards against NC State • Scored his first career touchdown in the win at Florida State, finishing with career highs of five catches and 91 yards • Also had a career-long 39-yard receptions against the Seminoles • Caught one pass for 23 yards in the William & Mary win • Had a 5-yard reception against East Carolina and an 8-yard catch against Georgia Tech • Caught four passes for 42 yards in the season opener against LSU. 2009 – Redshirt Season Started his first two career games at wide receiver and had three catches for 49 yards before missing nine straight games with a shoulder injury • Received a medical redshirt for this season • Had a career-best 23-yard catch against East Carolina • Made two catches for 26 yards, including a long of 18, against The Citadel. Joined the team as a walk-on tight end in 2010 • Four year letterman as a defensive end at Cardinal Gibbons High School in Raleigh • Named all- conference as a senior and honorable-mention all-conference as a sophomore • Team leader in sacks as a senior • Also played two years of varsity basket- ball • Team won the conference title in football and basketball as a senior • Coached by Mike Sheehan • Member of the National Honor Society • Born Eric Daniel Albright on August 9 • Son of Karen and Daniel Albright • Major- ing in business • Favorite NFL team is the San Diego Chargers.
