One hundred twenty JWU students volunteered in Berckmans
Place, an exclusive hospitality venue at the 2014 Masters
Tournament in Augusta, Ga. They were positioned in the front
and back of the house and everywhere in between. When
heavy rain and lightning forced fans off the golf course and
inside, JWU students assisted in handling the crowds. Jim
James, senior director of club and hospitality operations,
says, "We could not have been more pleased with the conduct
and professionalism of the JWU students. They were great to
work with."
FRATERNITY AND SORORITY LIFE NEW TO CAMPUS
Starting this fall, Fraternity & Sorority Life will be offered on the Charlotte
Campus. After months of communicating with national organizations,
reviewing proposals and hosting campus visits, the JWU Charlotte
Fraternity & Sorority Life Committee welcomes three outstanding
organizations: Delta Phi Epsilon Sorority, Kappa Sigma Fraternity and
Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity.
"JWU's Charlotte Campus has been waiting for the right time to develop
a Fraternity & Sorority Life community, and what better time than in the
campus' 10th year," says Matthew Sharp, director of student involvement &
leadership.
These student groups will assist the campus in building a more diverse,
inclusive and thriving community that offers opportunities for students to
develop socially, intellectually and professionally.
"This new addition will certainly add more opportunities for our students
to get connected and involved in their collegiate experience," says Sharp.
