(BSEE '97, MBA '02) has joined Level 3 Communications as vice president of data, voice, & enhanced services engineering in Tulsa. ClassNotes Ryan Torregrossa (left – BSBA '11) thought all was lost when his VISA for India didn't return in time. However, fellow Kappa Sigma fraternity brother David Morgan (BA '10) recommended trying to enter through Nepal (which has slightly lower VISA requirements). Ryan canceled all his flights, trains and hotels, and he and David hopped on a last-minute flight to Kathmandu, Nepal. The two hiked the Himalayan mountain range for two weeks. 2000s Roy M. "Skip" Teel Jr. (BS '67) was named Outstanding Philan- thropist by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Eastern Oklahoma Chapter during its National Philanthropy Day luncheon on Nov. 7, 2013. Nomination criteria included having a proven record of outstanding, long-term community service for one or more charitable organizations and actions that have had a demonstrable, positive impact on the lives of others. Teel has provided long-term commu - nity service to The University of Tulsa, the Child Abuse Network (CAN) and the Tulsa Ballet. He also has been active with the TU chapter of Sigma Chi. Professionally, Teel has owned and operated businesses in the conventional mobile telephone and paging industry, food manufacturing industry and the oil and natural gas business. 1960s Mark Ingram (BSBA '80) was recognized by a leading finance publication, Barron's magazine, which named Mark in its annual "America's Top 1,200 Advisors: State-by-State." This is the fifth year Mark has received this honor. In total, 313 Merrill Lynch advisors earned a place on the list, the most of any firm. Mark also is a proud supporter of TU athletics and events. 1980s Ralph Hill (MBA '84) was named CEO and chairman of the Board of Managers by New Gulf Resources, LLC, on March 31, 2014. The company, based in Tulsa, owns, manages and operates upstream energy projects in Texas, Kansas and Oklahoma. Hill, who began his career with Williams in the 1980s, previously served as CEO and president of Tulsa-based WPX Energy, Inc. New Gulf Resources will initially focus on operations in East Texas, where the current management team has successfully developed and sold two large horizontal oil plays. Hill succeeds CEO Tracy Poole, who will remain as president. Amy Cole (MBA '88) was named president of Michigan-based Tubelite Inc., a leading manufacturer and supplier of archi- tectural aluminum storefront, entrance and curtainwall systems in the U.S., on March 31, 2014. Cole previously served as general manager, residential/light commercial business at Kohler Power Systems in Kohler, Wisconsin. From 1988 to 2012, she held positions of increasing responsibility at Hilti North America, her last as senior vice president of channels. Cole replaced Ken Werbowy, who served as president of Tubelite for 20 years before retiring. Jeff Speight (BSBA '88), CFP, a client relationship manager with Tangle- wood Wealth Management in Houston, is currently preparing for ordination in January as a permanent deacon and spends time outside of the office training to help those much less fortunate than his clientele. 1990s October 16-19 Visit www.tUalumni.com/homecoming for a detailed calendar of events and to register online.
