INSIDE College Athletics

The complexion of the University of Louisville and its entire athletic department will change on July 1, 2014, when Louisville enters the Atlantic Coast Conference, one of the premier leagues in the nation. We have been so fortunate to be a part of many great conferences over the years, and we are forever grateful for those opportunities. We are sincerely appreciative to have been a member of the American Athletic Conference over the past season. Our teams have worked hard over the past season to win 14 conference championships and 20 of our 23 sports programs had representatives in postseason competition. Joining the ACC is an integral part in the upward trajectory of this entire university and our department. Over the last 16 years, our athletic department has operated under the approach to "Stay Humble and Hungry" and that's how we will continue to build our department as we prepare for the future. I'm grateful for all the hard work and dedication of our staff, and with the cooperation of the university, it has enabled us to join an elite conference with a great athletic tradition and LETTER FROM THE ATHLETIC DIRECTOR pride coupled with outstanding academics. We know the ACC is extremely competitive, but we are entering this league with the intent of playing for conference and national championships. Most importantly, we want to continue to operate with class and integrity. We are extremely proud of our accomplishments on and off the field in recent years, and we are excited for our future as we enter the ACC. With continued hard work and dedication, there are still great things in store for this University and I am proud and humbled that we were chosen for membership in this league. Being invited to join the ACC is an indication of how far we've come, but we aren't done yet and we will continue to strive to get better.
