Badgers ready for
Big Ten championship
Consistent performances set tone for season
BY TESSA RUID @BADGERWGOLF
C
oach Todd Oehrlein is
looking to continue the
team's consistent scor-
ing as his Badgers approach
the Big Ten Championships
April 25-27 on the Pete Dye
Course in French Lick, Ind.
This will be the first time the
women have played the Pete
Dye Course. After two years
on the Donald Ross Course in
French Lick. UW finished sixth
in the 54-hole event last year
and hopes to improve on that
next week.
The Badgers have had eight
top-10 finishes in nine events
this year, including one win
and three third-place finishes.
That consistency will be key
in the conference meet, which
determines the automatic
qualifier for the NCAA region-
als May 8-10.
TEAM AND INDIVIDUAL NOTES
● With its 297.73 average, Wisconsin is
on pace to break the UW season scor-
ing record of 302.93 set by the 2009-
10 team.
● The Badgers set a 36- and 54-hole re-
cord placing third with a 5-under par
286-288-285―859 at the Westbrook
Spring Invitational. The previous re-
cord was 865, set last fall at the Lady
Paladin Invitational on Sept. 22.
● Wisconsin has won at least one tour-
nament every year since 2009-10.
This past fall, UW won the 16-team
Lady Paladin Invitational on Sept. 22

set or tied career marks this year. As
a freshman, Brooke Ferrell set her
bests and tied the school 54-hole re-
cord while tying for sixth at the West-
brook Spring Invitational with 74-
70-69―213. She has led the Badgers

record of 76.68 was set by teammate
Alyssa Elliott in 2009-10.
● Kris Yoo had her 54-hole best score
while tying for third at the lady Pala-
din with a 73-70-70―213. The mark
also tied the school 54-hole record,
which is held by five different players.
