MEN'S BASKETBALL
Wisconsin had a part in
NCAA basketball history at
the 2014 Final Four, as the
AT&T Stadium attendance
of 79,444 during Saturday
night's national semifinals set
an NCAA hoops attendance
record and also topped the
previous Final Four mark of
75,421 from 2011.
ACADEMICS
A total of 34 Wisconsin
student-athletes have
earned the honor of being
named to the winter Aca-
demic All-Big Ten team. In
addition, swimmer Nick
Caldwell was one of nine
Big Ten student-athletes
to carry a cumulative 4.0
grade-point average. The
Sarasota, Fla., native has
an unblemished GPA while
studying chemistry.
SOFTBALL
The Badgers picked up their
third win of the year over
a ranked team with a 2-1
triumph over No. 14 Minne-
sota on Sunday.
MEN'S TRACK
Junior Michael Lihrman
crushed his school record
in the hammer throw at the
Florida Relays with a heave
of 226 feet, 8 inches. Li-
hrman was the top collegiate
finisher in the invitational
section of the event, and his
throw is the sixth-best in the
nation this year.
