Wisconsin pulled out a 4-3 win over Illinois-Chicago to improve to 5-4 on the young season. The Badgers figured out a winning combination for their doubles teams having switched the lineup for the second time in the last few weeks. Wisconsin was not only able to claim the doubles point but was also victorious in all three doubles matches. "This was the best energy I've seen all year for doubles," said head coach Tina Samara. "All six of them came out with great energy that we have lacked in the past. We were re- ally happy with the doubles." Paired at No. 1 doubles for the first time were Lauren Chypyha and Lauren Burich, who teamed up to de- feat UIC's Mariana Palacios and Kathryn Sharples, 8-3. Also for the first time in No. 2 doubles was the combination of Becca Bailey and Sydney Rider. They were able to claim victory, 8-4, over Jana Knoppe and Nata- lia Kuvakina. Back together after switching it up for the last two weeks were Anastasia Tripolskaya and Nova Patel. The duo claimed their fifth doubles win of the season, defeating Veronica Lacerda and Keti Mebuke, 8-1. Wisconsin used its strength at the top of the lineup to seal the win, as the Badgers claimed victory in No. 1, 2 and 3 singles. In No. 1 singles, Chypyha was able to capture her ninth-straight win this spring after defeating Palacios, 6-1, 6-1. Burich was able to win, 6-1, 6-3, in No. 2 singles against Sharples. At No. 3 singles, Tripolskaya defeated Kuvakina, 6-4, 6-1. Up next, the Badgers will travel to San Jose, Calif., to compete against San Jose State at 3 p.m. on March 18.
