Johanna Solverson took matters into her own
hands at the Kohl Center, scoring a career-high
31 points to lead the University of Iowa to victory
over Wisconsin and a share of the 2008 Big Ten
Conference regular-season crown with Ohio State.
Kristi Smith added 20 points as the Hawkeyes shot
56.9 percent from the field.
Jan. 11, 2009 – Iowa 74, Minnesota 57
Iowa scored the first seven points and never
looked back. JoAnn Hamlin made 8-of-9 field
goals and finished with a game-high 21 points,
Kristi Smith made five 3-point field goals and
scored 20 points. e victory started the Hawkeyes
on a hot streak — they won 13-of-15 and made the
NCAA Tournament, hosted by the University of
Iowa.
March 20, 2010 – Iowa 70, Rutgers 63
Bluder notched her first win in three tries against
former UI head coach C. Vivian Stringer, as Iowa
defeated Rutgers in the first round of the NCAA
women's basketball tournament — its first tourna-
ment win since 2002 when it defeated Virginia.
Kachine Alexander scored 18 points with eight
rebounds.
Dec. 20, 2010 – Iowa 75, Drake 71
e Hawkeyes overcame a six-point halime
deficit, outscored Drake 42-32 over the final 20
minutes, and went on to give Bluder her 200th vic-
tory at the University of Iowa. Kachine Alexander
scored 26 points for the Hawkeyes.
Jan. 20, 2013 – Iowa 62, Purdue 46
e University of Iowa improved to 5-0 against
ranked teams in the 2012-13 season with a win
against No. 11 Purdue inside Carver-Hawkeye
Arena. e win was No. 600 for Bluder. Jaime
Printy and Melissa Dixon scored 15 points apiece;
Printy, Dixon, and eairra Taylor all made three
3-point field goals.
The 2007-08 University of Iowa women's basketball team finished 21-11 overall, 13-5 in the Big Ten
Conference. The Hawkeyes shared the regular-season league championship with Ohio State.
