E
ach of Wisconsin's three seniors carefully
pondered the Twitter assignment and agreed
that it was a challenge. Ben Brust, Zach Bo-
hannon and Evan Anderson all had reservations on
whether they could tell their college basketball nar-
rative in a tweet, 140 characters or less.
"Oh, man, that's tough to do on the spot," said
@BenBrust.
"I'm used to typing it out. I don't know how far
140 goes," said @ZBohannon.
"There are so many things that I would like to cap-
ture," said @EvanAnderson32.
Each has traveled a different path to their senior
year. Anderson was heavily-recruited as a 14-year-
old; Brust was heavily-recruited ― twice ― and
signed national letters with Iowa and Wisconsin;
Bohannon was lightly-recruited and transferred to
the UW after two years at the Air Force Academy.
Bohannon, a forward from Marion, Iowa, thus
wound up joining the original 2010 UW recruit-
ing class that featured Anderson, a center from Eau
Claire North; Brust, a guard from Hawthorn Woods,
Ill.; Josh Gasser, a guard from Port Washington; and
Duje Dukan, a forward from Deerfield, Ill.
Gasser and Dukan still have junior eligibility. Both
redshirted last season; Gasser after ACL surgery;
Dukan after a late summer bout with mononucleo-
sis. While Anderson is listed as a redshirt junior, he
has decided to not come back for a final year of eligi-
bility. He just felt it was time to move on.
"I can't really pinpoint a day, a week or a month
(when I made the decision) but it was somewhat
into the season," said Anderson, who will graduate
in Community and Environmental Sociology. "I just
hope for the rest of the year I can help my team-
mates. I love all of these guys."
