50 // VARSITY January 30, 2014 SCHEDULE (14-7-1, 5-3-0-0) LAST TIME OUT Jan. 24 Ohio State W, 5-3 Jan. 25 Ohio State L, 3-1 COMING UP Friday at Michigan 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Michigan 5:30 p.m. Feb. 6 Minnesota 7:30 p.m. Feb. 7 Minnesota 8 p.m. Zengerle is Mr. Consistency Senior forward putting up points, just like he's done his whole career with the Badgers I f it is possible to fly under the radar and rank among the highest-scoring players at a hockey-storied school like Wisconsin, then senior for- ward Mark Zengerle is doing that. After setting up two goals last Friday against Ohio State, and scoring a goal on Saturday, Zengerle recorded his 142nd career point and his 112th career assist. Those numbers rank him 28th all-time at UW in scoring and push him into a tie for 11th in career assists for the Badgers. Setting up goals is what Zengerle does best, and he is set to cruise into the top-seven among Badgers set-up men. When all is said and done, he could find himself ranking among the top-five Badgers of all-time. Zengerle's current as- sist total is 15 more than any other current collegiate skater. He is known for his assists, but Zengerle boasts some re- markable individual accom- plishments during his UW time. One of four skaters in school history to post at least 30 assists in their first two seasons, Zengerle came within one game of tying Mike Eaves for the longest point-scoring streak in school annals. This season, Zengerle has risen to the top of UW's scoring chart, tying for the team lead with 24 points. He has points in nine of the past 10 games, 13 of the past 15 contests, 14 of the last 18 tilts and in 17 of 22 games this sea- son. If he ends up leading the team, that would mark his second time doing so af- ter leading the squad with 50 points as a sophomore. MINNESOTA SERIES THURSDAY-FRIDAY ● After a weekend at Michigan, the Bad- gers return to the Kohl Center for a Thursday-Friday series against Min- nesota. Make special note of the days of the week as tickets and parking were produced before the dates of the games were determined. INSIDE MEN'S HOCKEY BY PAUL CAPOBIANCO @BADGERMHOCKEY
