Wisconsin has come back
from double-digit deficits its
last two games but has run
out of time. UW rallied from a
28-point deficit at Michigan on
Jan. 9 to cut the lead to six. The
Badgers also woke up from a
16-point first half shortcoming to Iowa on Jan. 12 but
couldn't stop the Hawkeye offense in the second half.
PAIGE HITS FROM THE LINE
● Senior Morgan Paige has made her
last 15 free throws, upping her season
average to 87 percent (60-of-69) from
the line. The 5-9 guard ranks sixth in
the Big Ten in free throw percentage.
Paige's record for consecutive free
throw makes is 23 over a five-game
stretch in January of 2013.
The UW record for consecutive free
throws made is 29 by Michele Kozelka
in December of 1989.
ROCHEL TO REDSHIRT SEASON
●Senior Cassie Rochel has elected to
redshirt the 2013-14 season due to a
lingering back injury.
The 6-4 post led the Big Ten in
blocks per game as a junior, averaging
2.67 per contest. She also led the conference in Big Ten-only games, shooting 54.5 percent from field goal range.
The Lakeville, Minn., native started
30 games as a junior, leading the Badgers with 9.1 rebounds per game. She
also added 7.0 points per game while
shooting a team-best 50.9 percent
from the field.
Rochel has played in 82 games in
her career, starting 33. She averages
5.1 rebounds and 4.4 points per game
while shooting 51.2 percent.
