Thank You Dear Friends, Thank you to our members for your loyalty, your commitment, and your generosity. By joining the Sorin Society, you became part of a very special group of people who believe in the vision of Father Sorin, and care deeply about the future of Our Lady's University. We simply cannot thank you enough. In a letter he wrote less than two weeks after his arrival in northern Indiana in 1842, Notre Dame's founder boldly stated that the new University of Notre Dame du Lac would become "one of the most powerful means for good in this country." So, it is altogether fitting that the University recognition society named in his honor, the Sorin Society, is a force for good at Notre Dame! Indeed, gifts made by members of the Sorin Society touch nearly every facet of Our Lady's University. Sorin Society funds provide financial aid for deserving students, contribute to student life, support strategic research investments, strengthen academic excellence, support new technology, enhance University communications, and much more. Today, we continue to fulfill Father Sorin's bold vision that a humble log chapel would grow into a powerful force for good. Two hundred years after his birth, a Notre Dame education is a magnificent gift of knowledge, faith, and spirit our graduates take forward with them—to share with their families, their communities, and the world.
