DECEMBER 16, 2006: Alando Tucker and Brian Butch both scored 20 points in the first half
as Wisconsin defeated No. 2-ranked Pittsburgh, 89-75. It was just the third time in school
history UW had beaten the No. 2 team in the country.

DECEMBER 12, 1936: Ed Jankowski became the first Badger to be selected in the
NFL draft when he was chosen ninth overall by the Green Bay Packers.
A NEW LEADER
DECEMBER 15, 1989: Pat Richter was hired to succeed Ade Sponberg as UW
athletic director.
FINAL FOUR
DECEMBER 14, 2000: The Badgers volleyball team competed in its first Final Four
