UA's international
students
Sophomore
Natalie Mallinak designed
and made this 17-foot long quilt
to represent UA's international
students. The quilt, which is six
feet tall, is made of the 47 flags
(11" by 18" each) that represent
the homelands of at least two
current international UA students.
In all, UA students come from
95 countries, an unwieldy
number for a quilt, says Natalie
a fashion merchandising major.
The quilt, which was made at the
request of the Graduate Student
Council and the Department
of Student Services, will be
installed in the Student Union in
early spring.

The University of Akron name, around the globe as they emerge as
valuable citizens of our world.
