Construction to replace the natural grass in the infield at Duane Banks Field began Oct. 17.
Now people walking past the University of Iowa baseball complex can see the field renovation
in its final stage with AstroTurf being laid down at the facility.
First-year head coach Rick Heller says the improvements speak volumes to the pledge being
made to Hawkeye baseball.
"It's exciting for our current players to see this commitment," he said. "This is step one and
we're going to continue to work hard in our fundraising efforts to keep making additions as
soon as possible."
