"We've got our work cut out for us on Friday and then Sunday against a very good Ohio State team," said head coach Kelly Sheffield. The 5-8 libero will go down in the Badger annals as one of the best defensive players in program history. Hickey ranks third on the UW career record list with 1,653 digs and third with 3.95 digs per set. "I think she's absolutely one of the best liberos in the country, not just in our conference," said Sheffield. "I think she's one of the best in the entire country and there's a reason for that. She just works really hard (and) she is tough mentally." CHAPMAN CLOSES IN ON 1,000 ● Junior Ellen Chapman is counting down to 1,000 career kills, needing 33 kills to become the 20th UW player to achieve that milestone. The 6-4 outside hitter has tallied double-figure kills the last 11 matches and continues to lead the Badgers with 3.41 kills per set, which ranks ninth in the Big Ten. Her kill per set average is her highest season average while she is also hitting a season best .243.
