S C H O O L L 2013 VHSL Cheer Championships November 9, 2013 In this edition Page 13 Recording and Broadcasting Rights Any broadcast of state tournament games via radio, television, must be authorized under rights granted by the Virginia High School League. Any broadcast or unauthorized use of the accounts and description of this state event transmitted in any form without the expressed written consent of the Virginia High School League is prohibited. Any use of video equipment at this state competition must be authorized under the rights granted by the Virginia High School League. Any other use of video equipment is prohibited. Year-by-Year Champions The VHSL conducted its first cheer championship in 1997 with Gar-Field High School of Dale City winning the Group AAA state title. Page 16 2013 in Review King William, Briar Woods and Herndon claimed VHSL cheer championships in 2012.
