FROM THE PRESIDENT
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 42nd season of Liberty Flames Men's Basketball.
As the reigning Big South Conference champions, the team promises fans another
exciting year of action in the Vines Center.
Last season, the team contributed to one of our most successful years in Liberty Athletics
history as we captured 10 conference titles in all. The team's incredible postseason run
to secure its third NCAA Tournament appearance gained national attention. Ten of our
NCAA Division I programs represented Liberty well on the national stage last year.
Since 1971, Liberty University has grown from a small Bible college to a major university
known for its academic excellence, world-class facilities, NCAA Division I athletics, and
a host of student activities — all offered in a distinctively Christian environment.
We are proud of our student-athletes who continue to demonstrate Liberty's
uncompromising mission to Christian values. When you're not seeing them in action on
the court, you may be spotting them in your community as they demonstrate faith in
action through various service projects.
As you navigate our campus, you will see we are in a major rebuilding phase. Thank
you for your patience during this time and please don't hesitate to ask any of our staff
members for assistance.
We hope you enjoy your time here as you join the Liberty family for the 2013-14 Flames
Basketball season.
