THAILAND Rush Thailand Rush grateful for Two Years of Success " W h e r e t h e T r a i l s o f P a s s i o n a n d P u r p o s e M e e t, B e g i n s t h e P a t h t o V i c t o r y " Nine former Thailand Rush players, from its initial two years of existence, are currently playing college soccer in the United States, after the club lost 13 seniors off of the spring 2013 squad. Thailand Rush, in its third year as a soccer club in Chiang Mai, Thailand, has experienced tremendous success. The goal for Thailand Rush has always been to honor God, as a group of players who want to pursue excellence in the game, through quality opportunities in Chiang Mai, throughout Thailand, and in other parts of Asia. According to these criteria, the first two years have been very successful as the club has developed many quality soccer players who have outstanding character, honoring God with their abilities, and contributing good things to whatever community they live in. We have developed relationships with several quality college soccer programs in the US, presenting our players as those of quality in both character, good students in the classroom, and solid contributors to college programs for four years. Thailand Rush currently boasts 9 former players who are currently playing in quality college programs and contributing, both on and off the field. We are very grateful for this success. In its third year, Thailand Rush now faces the challenge of having lost 13 seniors last spring, and starting the development of a very young team. Most of these young players play soccer on the same school team during their soccer season in the fall, and futsal season in the last spring, while playing for Rush during the early spring. We look forward to developing these young players, to continuing to honor God in all we do, and to wearing the Rush logo with gratitude and showing well for the club. These players recently competed in a quality high school tournament in Bangkok, and took second but showing that they have a chance to be a good squad in the near future. With six games remaining, Rush put past 10 goals against Race Course Heroes of Kitwe town at Kamenza Sports Complex in Chililabombwe in a week 32 fixture. Raphael Silwimba and Prince Jr Mumba each had a hat trick while the rest of the goals were shared by their colleagues. Rush 17 became the first team in CAFA organized league to win with such a margin. The technical bench and management are aware of the need to keep concentration high and avoid complacence. The team has intensified trainings by holding training sessions every Thursday with Grinaker FC Football Association of Zambia's First Division whom they held to a 1-1 scoreline in a recent practice match. Prince Lupando, Head Coach of Grinaker said, "I am impressed with the boys, they showed maturity, tactical organization, and defended as a unit with brilliant individual skills. Most of the amateur teams we play with during practice matches, we rarely face resistance but this team is professionally organized." Rush has tight fixtures remaining with three of the six games away to Mufulira and Kitwe while closes the league with home fixtures. Of the twenty teams the top two qualify into league one with a prize of $400 for the league winners with an invitation to play in the regional Youth Tournament while the bottom two face relegation into district (12) leagues of the Copperbelt province.
