ADDRESS
When we debuted the World Series of Fighting just over a year ago, we made the conscious decision
to do so without champions.
We wanted our titles to be earned in the WSOF cage, and to declare someone a champion without
them establishing themselves in the WSOF first felt disingenuous.
That's why I'm so excited to crown either Josh Burkman or Steve Carl the first welterweight
champion in WSOF history at WSOF 6. These men have earned it, putting on some of the most
exciting fights the WSOF has ever seen and leaving no doubt that they are at the top of their division.
But just as important, Josh and Steve are two of the classiest fighters you will ever meet, and I have
no doubt that either one will represent the WSOF well as its first champion.
And more champions will follow. Jesse Taylor and Elvis Mutapcic will face each other at WSOF 7
for the right to fight Dave Branch in the WSOF Middleweight Tournament Finals, and contenders are
emerging in every other division. This is an exciting time to be a WSOF fan, and I'm looking forward
to bringing you more championship fights in the coming year.
WSOF 6 will be a historic day, and we have many more historic days to come. Thank you for
supporting the WSOF, and we will see you in Vancouver for WSOF 7.
