That can be attributed, in part, to the Bears' success on the glass and solid shooting from the field (40.1 percent). Cal brought in a Conference-leading 44.3 boards per game and outrebounded its opponents by an 11.4 rpg margin, third-best in the country. • Although the Bears take a big hit with the departure of Layshia Clarendon, Talia Caldwell and Eliza Pierre, a trio that combined for 294 starts over their Cal careers and earned numerous all-conference accolade, they welcome back RS SR F Gennifer Brandon. The 2013 All-Pac-12 performer averaged a double-double last season at 12.3 ppg 11.1 rpg, and enters the season second on the active career rebound list with 1023 • Brandon will have plenty of talent and experience around her as the Golden Bears are the most experienced team in the league, with all returnees on the roster boasting at least two years of collegiate-playing experience. JR G Brittany Boyd, JR F Reshanda Gray and SR G Afure Jemerigbe will be key figures, in addition to Brandon. The three combined for 976 points and 469 rebounds and were key components to Cal's run to the Final Four last year. Along with Brandon, Boyd was also named to the WBCA's Wade Watch List.
