TOUGH STRETCH OF MATCHES
● UW is one of only three teams in the
country that will play six-straight
matches against top-25 ranked
teams in 2013. The Badgers join Big
Ten foes Michigan and Minnesota
with the tough schedule.
Wisconsin is 1-2 halfway through
its six-match stretch. The Badgers
played the first three matches on the
road, losing 3-2 at then-No. 10 Nebraska on Oct. 5, downing then-No.
14 Ohio State on Oct. 11 and losing
at No. 4 Penn State on Oct. 12. The
Badgers return home to face No. 16
Michigan on Friday, No. 5 Michigan
State on Sunday and No. 10 Minnesota on Oct. 23.
MOVING UP IN THE POLL
● The Badgers continue to move up in
the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top 25 poll. Wisconsin is ranked 15th this week, the
highest ranking for a UW team since
being ranked 13th on Sept. 5, 2008.
UW was ranked 19th on Oct. 7,
23rd on Sept. 30, 25th on Sept. 9
and has been receiving votes all
other weeks. This could be the first
season since 2007 that the Badgers
would be ranked or receiving votes
all year.
