PAC-12 CONFERENCE KEVIN WEIBERG • Deputy Commissioner and Chief Operating Officer Deputy Commissioner Kevin Weiberg enters his fourth year with the Pac-12 Conference. Weiberg has responsibility for all aspects of the Pac-12 Conference's administrative operations. He has oversight responsibility for the Conference's daily operations, including governance, enforcement, compliance, sport management, championships, football bowl relationships, officiating, and television administration. Prior to joining the Pac-12, Weiberg was the Chief Executive Officer of iHoops from 2009 to 2010, a joint venture between the NCAA and NBA, formed to develop a structure and programs to improve the quality of youth basketball in the United States. Weiberg has extensive experience in college athletics, as well. He served as vice president of university planning and development for the Big Ten Network from 2007-09. In addition, he served as deputy commissioner of the Big Ten Conference under Jim Delany from 1989 to 1998. Weiberg served as commissioner of the Big 12 Conference from 1998 to 2007, overseeing its transformation into one of the most competitive and financially successful conferences in the country. Weiberg is a 1978 graduate of Kansas State University and earned a master's degree from Western Illinois University in 1979. WOODIE DIXON • Senior Vice President Business Affairs Woodie Dixon joined the Pac-12 in April 2010 and manages all business affairs, in-house legal matters and human resources for the Conference and Pac-12 Networks, as well as football administration for the Conference. Prior to joining the Pac-12, Dixon spent six years (2004-10) as General Counsel for the NFL's Kansas City Chiefs overseeing all legal matters for the franchise, including player, marketing, sponsorship, stadium operations, special event and sales contracts, litigation and licensing. Previously, he has practiced law with the NFL, Sidley, Austin, Brown & Wood LLP in Chicago, and Dorsey & Whitney LLP in Minneapolis, Minn. Dixon is a graduate of Harvard Law School, the University of Massachusetts graduate program in Sports Management and Amherst College. DANETTE LEIGHTON • Chief Marketing Officer Danette Leighton joined the Pac-12 Conference in April 2010 as the Conference's first Chief Marketing Officer. Her responsibilities include leading the Conference and Pac-12 Networks in the development and implementation of strategic marketing and communication programs, as well as integrating and supporting the marketing interests of the member institutions. She oversees the areas of business operations, communications, event operations, marketing, public affairs and ticket sales, as well as the communications and marketing departments at Pac-12 Networks.. An Arizona graduate, Leighton returns to the Pac-12 where she began her career as a public relations intern. Most recently, she acted as Vice President of Marketing and Brand Development for Maloof Sports & Entertainment. She spent the last decade overseeing all marketing and branding efforts for the NBA's Sacramento Kings and ARCO Arena, as well as the business operations for the WNBA's Sacramento Monarchs. Previously, she led Sony's sports marketing division, focusing on the PGA Tour and the Sony Open in Hawai'i. She also served as the executive director of the 1999 NCAA Women's Basketball Final Four at Stanford and worked in public relations for the Fiesta Bowl. RON MCQUATE • Chief Financial Officer McQuate joined the Pac-12 in March 2010 as the Chief Financial Officer and manages the finances for the Conference and Pac-12 Networks. Prior to joining the Pac-12, McQuate spent seven years at the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour (WTA) where he served Sr. Vice President of Finance. Before the WTA, McQuate acted as Vice President of Finance for the Soccer, Europe, and Events Divisions of AEG in Los Angeles, Calif. He began his career in sports with the Cleveland Indians as Controller and then Director of Corporate Planning and Development. McQuate earned his B.S.B.A. in accounting from the University of Dayton. GLORIA NEVAREZ • Senior Associate Commissioner, Senior Woman Administrator Gloria Nevarez was named the Pac-12's Senior Associate Commissioner and Senior Woman Administrator in April 2010. Nevarez is responsible for the administration of the Conference's Senior Woman Administrators and oversees all sports except football. She is the Pac-12 liaison for men's basketball and women's golf. Before joining the Pac-12, Nevarez spent the previous three years as Senior Associate Athletic Director at the University of Oklahoma, overseeing marketing, human resources, strength and conditioning and several sports including men's and women's basketball. She also served as the University's liaison for Title IX compliance and Big 12 governance issues. Before Oklahoma, Nevarez was Associate Commissioner/SWA for the West Coast Conference. Nevarez previously held positions in program management, compliance and legal affairs at the University of California. She also worked in the athletic department at San Jose State University and was an adjunct faculty member at the University of San Francisco.
