Road warriors: UW makes
most of road gauntlet
Badgers hit road for four of next six matches
he Badgers have accumulated their fair share of
frequent flyer miles early
on this season.
Following
Wednesday's
match, which happened to be
a day trip to Chicago to take on
Loyola, Wisconsin has played
five road matches in its last six
games, a feat that is impressive
considering the team owns a
3-1-1 mark.

Their record is also commendable when you add in the
fact that 18 of their 26 players are either sophomores or
juniors, with three freshmen
earning spots in head coach
Paula Wilkins' starting 11.
The lack of experience on
this year's team has forced the
Badgers to grow up quickly
and the road ahead will measure just how far that growth
has come. Following matches against
Milwaukee (Sept. 15) and Green Bay
(Sept. 18) at the McClimon Complex, UW
will head back out on the road to begin
Big Ten play.
Wisconsin rounds out September with
a trio of away games against Big Ten foes
before welcoming 2012 Big Ten champion Penn State to McClimon on Oct. 4 for
the conference home opener.
An undefeated road mark from this
young team has caught many by surprise
but the Badgers will look to continue
that streak when the road becomes even
more of a challenge in the coming weeks.
WINNING WISCONSIN
● Following the Badgers' trip to LoyolaChicago on Wednesday, UW welcomes
Milwaukee and Green Bay to the McClimon Complex to renew the teams'
in-state rivalries. Wisconsin defeated
Marquette, 5-1, in an exhibition earlier this season and will look to complete the trifecta for the first time during the Paula Wilkins era.
DO IT ALL WALLS
● Through five matches, Cara Walls has
been the Badgers' unanimous MVP.
The junior has tallied five goals (10
points) and is on pace to lead Wisconsin in points for the third-consecutive
season.
